VINCENT GHADIMI KHORASSANI,                                                              

                                 pianist , composer

 

Vincent Ghadimi took his first music lessons privately with composer and choir master Walter Vandorpe  at the age of fifteen; he then began musical studies at the Académie of Schaerbeeklearning piano with Leonardo Anglani. He continued with music history ( Henri Vanhulst) and music theory (Etienne De Lombaert) at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel.

He earned First Prize Diplomas in piano (Jean-ClaudeVanden Eynden) and chamber music ( Serge Bémant) as well as the Superior Diploma of specialized solfeggio ( Michel Lysight) at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

At the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music, in the class of Aquiles Delle-Vigne Vincent Ghadimi earned the diploma of Master of Music in piano and chamber music with First Class Honours as well as a specialisation in piano four hands and two pianos with Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri. He further studied with him for three years at the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris and also attended Masterclasses by Lazar Berman, Zoltan Kocsis, Andrei Nikolsky, Peter Eicher...

He also participated in several workshops in Mannheim, at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (3 consecutive years), the Summer Festival in Flaine, the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris, and in Braine L’Alleud ((Music-A Braine-L’Alleud) when he assisted Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri.

 

Fascinated by the teaching of conductor Sergiù Celibidache, he attended the Phenomenologyof Music courses with the conductor’s assistant Konrad von Abel. In this spirit Vincent Ghadimi performed in a Catholic secondary school (Sint-Jozef) in Sint-Niklaas in 2009 within the « Milena Principle" of which he was a member.

Vincent Ghadimi also won two First Prizes in international piano competitions (1993: Rotterdam "Doelen", 1995: Spain "Ibiza international piano competition").

His piano recitals received outstanding reviews (« ... ample gestures, impressive dynamics, heoffers a solidly constructed music ... »   Martine Dumont-Mergeay , La libre Belgique ; " an exceptional pianist " Ouest France).

In 2005 he and his wife, the Belgian harpist Cecile Marichal, formed the Duo Polyface Theygive concerts regularly (Atelier de la Dolce Vita, Atelier Marcel Hastir, Auditorium Maene, Auditorium Hanlet, Centre Culturel les Chiroux, L'Heure Musicale, Festival at the Château d'Attalens in Switzerland...), exploring the lesser- known repertoire for piano and harp, as well as the solo repertoires for both these instruments.

Parallel to his career as a pianist, Vincent Ghadimi composed numerous works :

 

" Initiation to contemporary deciphering " : solfeggio lessons made mandatory at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels for the specialization diploma in solfeggio in 1992.


"Opuscule" for instrumental ensemble (first performance in 1992 at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels).

Vincent Ghadimi’s works have frequently been played at the Festival de musique belge contemporaine (Festival Emergence).

 

He composed « Decamero lala », a children’s opera,  and also took part as conductor and choir master (performed at the Palais des Beaux Arts de Bruxelles for Jeugd and MuziekBrussel, May 2005.)  In order to better prepare the children’s choir, he attended Evelyn Bohen’s singing classes at the Hoofdstedelijke Academie voor muziek, woord en dans for twoyears.

 

« Le Crocodile en-chanté » musical tale , performed  with Laurence Renson (mezzo-soprano) at L’Entrela (centre culturel d’Evere) for Famizik on March 30, 2013.

 

 

Very early in his career, Vincent Ghadimi received written words of encouragement fromcomposer Joaquin Rodrigo and is featured in the « Dictionnaire des Compositeurs de Belgique du Moyen-Age à nos jours » ( Thierry Levaux , ed.Art in Belgium).

He also learned harmony and counterpoint from Franklin Gyselynck at the  KoninklijkConservatorium van Brussel.

 

He first attended classes  in choral conducting with Denis Menier and  Xavier Haag.

He is a member of the « A Chœur Joie » association and has conducted The Egmont Voiceschoir.

 

 

Vincent Ghadimi is a tenured professor of piano and chamber music at the HoofdstedelijkeAcademie in Brussels and, as an artist, he is part of the  « Tournées art et vie » (fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles).
